For years Thailand has been known as a destination filled with culture, great food and of course great value. Like many of us, who flock to Thailand for a bit of winter sun, or for a sunny escape, I also enjoy a little of the touristy side. The beauty of Hua Hin is that you can go off and get your Thai massage, or fish pedicure without being overwhelmed or swamped by it.
You can walk around the streets without being hustled by people, but conversely shops the markets, including a night and floating market are there for you to visit. You can enjoy a western shopping mall or Mc Donalds if you please, or stick to the traditional and feast on delicious fresh Thai food.
Being so close to Bangkok it makes for an incredible destination. You can even explore Bangkok for a few days before departing.
I love reading posts about other parts of the world. I want to travel and see everywhere!
Wow I would love to visit there one day. How much did you sped all in all?
We visited Thailand on our way home from the UK, so we didn’t have return flights etc as such. I think for a week minus flights it was about $2000 AUD including accommodation/food/spending money/tours etc.
I’ve never really thought about Thailand as a place to visit when I think of vacations spots, but this is a very beautiful spot. The beach you have shown is really very gorgeous.
I always hear how amazing Thailand is. I’ll have to visit some day. I love your photos!
Thailand is very high on my bucket list! I am adding Hua Hin to places to visit while there.
I love the way the beaches in Thailand are always described so beautifully. I hope someday to find myself sunbathing there – but this town is one I hadn’t heard it. I like that it’s small, and it really looks like you had a great experience there. The shuttles are a huge bonus, I’m sure.
Aww I visited Thailand but I went to the city and not the beach. Now I’m wishing I had ventured out to the beaches, they look so idyllic and I think the food must be amazing!
This looks like a great getaway. We hope to get to Thailand soon.
woww such a beautiful place it is ..i would love to visit this some day 🙂
This looks lovely and it is really nice that you can get there from Bangkok in a car. The beaches and the village seem like a great contrast to the craziness of the big city. Thanks for sharing on #TheWeeklyPostcard.
I just want to visit a cave one day!!!! I’ve never hear the term “floating market”. I’d love to know more about them. Travel blogs are some of my favorite pieces to read.
Im planning a trip to Thailand for next January, I absolutely love the country! Hua Hin was on my mind before so this article was very helpful. Some people say Hua Hin is dull? But I like the idea of not having too many tourists around. Any other places in Thailand you’d recommend? Im trying to choose new areas to try.
I almost went to Bangkok two years ago, but then my plans fell through. If I ever make it back, I’ll be sure to visit Hua Hin too. It looks really beautiful. #TheWeeklyPostcard
I would love to go to Hua Hin by train from Bangkok. Have heard so much of HH (and I’m from Malaysia) and have yet to visit this seaside town. Your post is reminding me to continue exploring hidden gems within our region 🙂 #TheWeeklyPostcard
It’s great to read about unknown parts of places. I went to Bangkok and didn’t really like it, but this place looks like much more my style!
What a beautiful area. It looks like lovely place to visit
I love the sandy beaches and the national parks. Another requirement is the fresh fruits it I were to take a trip to Asia. Seems like his him has it all. Now I just need to save for that vacation fund.
I have heard about this place before. A guide in Thailand suggested it as a respite from the city. Seems like a place I would like to visit (love when there are tons of natural attractions around). #TheWeeklyPostcard
I really really want to go to Thailand one day! But I’m scared of that tummy bug! My stomach goes insane every time I travel… Also, better start practicing my haggling skills!
